SETAREH supports and promotes the work of 19 artists, including both established and emerging talents from a range of international backgrounds. The gallery’s own collection of important artworks spans various media, from painting and sculpture, to photography and installation art.

The exhibition program consists of solo exhibitions and group shows that juxtapose contemporary art alongside modern art after the 1960s, emphasizing the evolving relationship between new perspectives and the legacies of Post-war Modernism. The program cycles each year, routinely offering fresh insights to the broader discourse of contemporary art. While some exhibitions focus on current social or environmental issues, others delve into the art-historical canon or explore key movements within the Western art scene. This creates a space where the past and present can converge, encouraging reflection on how art continues to shape, challenge, and respond to the cultural currents of our time.

In addition to its core program, SETAREH also is dedicated to platforming up-and-coming artists. In offering early exposure and career development, this initiative is significant to Düsseldorf’s arts community as it bridges the gap between emerging talent and established art institutions, helping to advance a new generation of artists. For young artists, it provides an introduction into the contemporary arts scene, evolving them into international players in this field.  

The gallery also actively engages with archiving and documentation such as through the publication of artist books, artist interviews, catalogues and performances, contributing to a global conversation about art and expanding the reach of its exhibitions beyond their physical space.
